A guide should be experienced in sitting with clients in plant medicine. Before you sit with others as a solo practitioner, we highly recommend you sit alongside other experienced guides.

While you can receive your certification without doing the following, we suggest you sit in a variety of sessions with a variety of guides. The more sessions you participate in, the easier it will be to hone in on the kind of services you would like to offer.

Working through this checklist can happen as you work through the course curriculum. And note: each of the items suggested are just that, suggestions. And participation in a single session might tick a few boxes. This list is intended to be a guide.

Don't start this portion until you feel ready. There is no rush. Safe always trumps fast in these spaces.

Identify and learn skills needed to be a good guide. Understand what happens in the body and mind when taking psychedelics and how to help a client.

Learn the importance of holding space, creating safe spaces to explore difficult emotions and the magic of silence.

Learn the importance of closing the circle and about the amazing 48-72 hours following a mushroom session.

Learn why it is vitally important to integrate a psychedelic experience and hear helpful examples of how to do it.
